Another biologist\, Elizabeth Harvey\, will introduce visitors to the fascinating and beautiful world of microscopic marine plants known as phytoplankton. Julia Diaz will discuss her research which is focused on the interaction of chemistry and microbiology of the oceans and how this interaction affects ecosystem health. Chemist Jay Brandes is studying the prevalence of microplastics in Georgia’s coastal waters. \nThe program is open to the public\, and admission is free.
