Lawrence and Janet Pomeroy Memorial Graduate Student Fund

Overview

The Lawrence and Janet Pomeroy Memorial Graduate Student Fund offers limited support to UGA graduate students to attend a conference, summer program and/or to conduct research. Awards are for the following purposes for graduate students:  

1) Conference support to participate in a conference and present on research. 

  • Meeting registration fee. 
  • Meeting travel. 
  • Meeting accommodations. 

2) Research support.  

  • Travel to a study site away from home institution. 
  • Accommodations while conducting research away from home institution. 
  • Equipment and supplies. 

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled at UGA. 

Amount

The amount of funding provided by The Pomeroy Fund is limited We anticipate that awards will be granted in amounts of $1000 per semester

How to Apply

Students may apply for the award by submitting a statement of interest and CV to Dr. Clifton Buck (csbuck@uga.edu) by email. The Graduate Affairs Committee will review the applications in consultation with Dr. Gus Paffenhöffer. 

The application deadline is annually in mid-April. Students seeking support will be notified of awards in early May.
