Althea Moore is a new post-doctoral fellow in Cliff Buck’s lab.

Althea received her Ph.D. from Northeastern University in the department of marine and environmental sciences. Her dissertation focused on the influence of environmental factors on species interactions in saltmarsh and mangrove ecosystems of Florida. She also has an M.S. in marine science from Virginia Institute of Marine Science at the College of William and Mary, where she studied seagrass ecosystems. Althea received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Earlham College, where she focused on terrestrial ecology. Before she started grad school, Althea worked in a molecular biology lab at Brown University, studying the function of plant genes.

Althea also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Emory University on a policy-oriented project outlining research priorities to address and understand climate change across the state of Georgia.

Althea has a three-year old daughter, who keeps her busy outside of work. She also enjoy gardening and music.
